What Are You Waiting For? Life Is Not A Dress Rehearsal

  • Minutes Read

What are you waiting for? So many people tell me they want to start a business? and when I ask what they?re waiting for- they usually have the same answers.

They say:
I’m waiting for the right time?
I’m waiting until I have the money?
I’m waiting until I finish this and that?

Well I think people who are “waiting” all the time for a “better time” are living life like it?s a dress rehearsal for the REAL LIFE that?s going to happen after you?ve practiced long enough.

But let?s think about that for a moment. We only get one chance at life (or at the very least, one chance at THIS particular life, if you believe in reincarnation?) there is no dress rehearsal. There is no better time than right now to do all those things you want to do.

We only have the right now.

You?re never going to have the money if you think you won?t ever have the money!
As I said in the I Get High On My Own Supply post, it?s like putting a carrot on the stick in front of you.

While you?re waiting for the “right” time, the entire time you?re thinking, ?this is not the right time? so of course- it?s never going to BE the right time.

There are some ?real? limitations to ?doing things? or are they?

You could be 18 and you want to open a bar?well you can?t. At least not in the U.S. Because you?re under age. So you might have to wait until you?re 21?or do you? You could open the bar in your dad?s name, or your uncle, or brother?

You may be saying, “I don?t have the money to open my business right now.” I mean, you can?t open a store on just wishes alone?right? And that is a real limitation?
Or is it?

It doesn’t have to be your money.

You may be thinking, “I have a million thing going on right now and I don?t have the time to do whatever?” But while you?re finishing up the million things you have to finish before you can do what you want to do, there are a million other things piling up that will need to be done and you?ll never find yourself with nothing else to do.

You have to make it the “right” time. You can?t wait for permission to do anything.

Just tell yourself it?s the right time, and it will be. We are not practicing for the grand opening- every day is the opening night? you have to make every moment count.

  1. Thanx for this mind-enlightening article. I never thought anyone would have convinced me to do the things i want. I always want to save everything for last or for the best. But i always am thinking when will that be?, or how can I figure if that’s it already? THis maybe because its hard to take some risk. But you are right man, we only got one shot at life, one day we might just wake up that this life aint there for us anymore.

  2. That’s really very inspiring. Everybody should be the best in every possible way they can everyday, ‘coz we’ll never know when life would just “click!” power-off. Life’s full of surprises. Sometimes, it brings joys and sometimes, sorrows.

  3. well its not that im contrary to what ure saying, in some ways I do agree with the point. But also keep in mind that we shouldn’t rush things like there’s no tomorrow. if you can wait for a day or two just to be VERY, VERY prepared then why not? My point is: preparation is not bad thing. Whatcha’ think?
