Troubleshooting

  • Minutes Read

The happy and efficient people in this world are those who accept trouble as a normal detail of human life and resolve to capitalize on it when it comes along. – H. Bertram Lewis.

This is a great quote…

When most people hear the word “trouble”, they think of something bad.

Even the dictionary says trouble is an inconvenience, problem, delay, or disturbance. But what if we looked at it another way.

A lot of people who are confronted with trouble go from having a positive attitude for dealing with their situation to an immediate negative defeatist attitude.

But every situation has more than one side to it. Maybe you can make the best of this trouble.

Start by realizing that life is full of positives and negatives. Everyone is going to encounter troubles from time to time. It’s how you deal with them that counts.

Think of trouble as a portion of an obstacle course. You are on the course, some of the hurdles are small and easy to deal with, but then comes the trouble obstacle.

It’s bigger than the other obstacles, and looks a lot meaner.

So, what do you do?

Do you just stop mid-way through the course and say ‘forget it, too big’ and walk off the track, or do you try?

The trouble obstacle may make you stumble a little bit on your course, but when you overcome it, it not only have shows you will not give up on your path, but you also are going to feel a great rush that you made it past that trouble obstacle.

Practical Application

What do you do when trouble crops up?

Do you become negative and figure that life is taking shots at you, or do you look for an opportunity in that trouble?

If you let trouble stop you, think back to when you were a kid. Did you let obstacles stop you then? When you fell off a bike did you just leave the bike on the ground and walk away, never to ride again? Why is trouble stopping you now!

Use that “trouble” to your advantage. When you overcome it you will see that you have barely missed a step on your life path and have given yourself a major boost, knowing that when trouble is tossed at you, you are strong and are not easily stopped.
