I met a woman several months ago and we quickly formed a business relationship that I thought was set for greatness. I felt really good about this project because if was going to provide two main things I was looking for at the time – A cash influx and I anticipated an ongoing, residual stream of income of about $5,000 per month. And as an added bonus, I’d be working with someone who I liked as a person…this was hard for me to find in most partnerships until that time.
My role was to handle the technical and the ‘behind-the-scenes’ marketing ideas. That’s one of the things I do in most of my projects. I’ve been called the BASF of marketing…”I don’t do the projects, I just make them better”. (I’m sure I’m infringing on some trademark with that statement – oh well)
Anyhoo, Once we got it started I put a lot of time, effort and energy (and money) into this project. I put a lot of things on hold…including other paying projects. I was sure this was going to be awesome.
Well, through a series of less-than-comfortable conversations, I came to realize two things:
1) This person didn’t trust me…and wouldn’t admit it.
2) They didn’t do a LOT of the things they were supposed to do for the project…and lied about it.
(side note: notice how people who do things in their lives project that type of activity on others)
Long story short, it turned out to be a total flop. It didn’t make any money and hasn’t made a dime since it launched 3 months ago.
To say the least, I was disappointed…okay, just kidding – I WAS FREAKING FURIOUS!!!
I couldn’t believe that I spent all that time on this just to turn out to be a dud. I’d done the things I was supposed to do, but my partner didn’t and that lead to the project bombing.
I let my mind run wild with horrible thoughts, but I was fortunate that the anger and frustration only lasted about 30 mins. (Which is 29 minutes and 59 seconds too long, but it was better than harboring it for days).
I talked to a few friend about it and was able to move past it. “Knowing” that everything was going to be okay and that something else was going to come along.
One week later… did you get that? ONE WEEK LATER, I was doing some research and ran across a website of another young lady who was doing pretty well in her business…(wow, I keep running into these young ladies…why haven’t I found a wife yet?) Well, I don’t what it was, but something compelled me to pick up the phone and call her.
There are 4 things that are exceptional here:
1) She had a phone number listed on her website
2) She lived right down the street from where I used to live in Vegas
3) I decided to pick up the phone and call her (I NEVER do that)
4) She answered the phone.
She was on the other line when I called but she called me back in a few minutes.
It was a really interesting conversation. By the end of the conversation we became ‘partners’ on a project to interview one of my favorite people…Joel Comm. Whose a genius when it comes to AdSense.
It was surreal.
I kept saying to myself, that I just met this woman and she wanted me to do an interview for her with Joel Comm… wow
After the interview we talked on the phone everyday and decided to work together on a project and within a week, we put together what I thought was going to be a little project that would make us a few bucks.
Errr…it turned out to be a little bit more successful that I imagined.
We earned $97,000 in 5 days.
Okay…so what’s the moral of the story?
Things happen… dead-beat partners, car accidents, traffic, break-ups, etc. How you choose to view them and respond to them is what makes the difference.
If I would have been bitter about the first failed project, I wouldn’t have been open to the second and much larger opportunity that was waiting for me.
Choo-Choo Choose to be happy!
The title really is catchy. But what i did like most is what it’s all about. I can really relate to it(except for bumping into younger ladies ). We all have our falls in life. I think thats the thing that we all need to get stuck into our brains. No matter how deep we fall or stumble the thing is there is a chance of getting up. You can make up for your fall and get away with it. Probably making more of what is lost 10 fold or maybe more. In this case, its the $100K choice.
Just always choose to get up and who knows- we can be the next one writing “THE $1,000,000 CHOICE”.
-Best Regards,
JR
Wow!
I truly believe that you manifest those things which are in your heart. It seems to me that your heart, although it took a minor detour, is filled with giving and you create from that level. You really cannot do anything differently. If you do, I’m sure it’s not from an area of comfort for you. I’m glad to see you’re able to be more deliberate in your attraction and I wish you nothing but the best.
P.S. In response to…’why haven?t I found a wife yet?’… I think three things…1)either you know the answer, 2)your heart has the answer or 3)you’re resisting something or someone (painful remember?)

I was reading the other post about luck, and here I am again.? I’m convinced that you have a good luck in life in finding success. But as your heading says, it’s a choice ..but I think it’s coupled with actions too.
Luck is just ten percent of making a successful deal. Another ten for inspiration. And all the rest would be up to you, and well, with prayers, too, of course.
Wow, this is such a powerful sharing
Yes, if we just keep focusing on the bad, you probably will stop yourself from calling the 2nd young lady and lose the chance to make close to $100k
Bob Proctor says it best in his free law of attraction report, which I uploaded to my website.
The law of attraction always work!
