Maybe the low/high vibration thing depends upon the person. Personally, I'm with you, Antonio. I have no desire to scare myself. Since the subconscious mind can't tell the difference between a real and imagined event, and since emotion shoves thoughts/images into the subconscious mind with greater force, I don't care to put into my mind anything I don't want to have "more of" in my life.

On the other hand, I have a good friend who is the most positive upbeat person I know, and she loves horror books and film. So I'm guessing horror doesn't effect her emotionally the same way it does me.

Real horror (fear) is a low vibration energy (if you need to define "low" & "high"...)

The energy in horror fiction, though, is different. It's creativity, sometimes humor and playfulness, the abilities of actors to portray intense emotions, the virtuosity of the special effects folks. Lots of what we'd define as "high" energies, for sure. (I'd say, higher complexity & awareness energy.)

Hi Que,

Thanks so much for your comment. However I can't 'agree' with your comment... not that agreeing is necessary ;-).

I don't think the post gets into religion...it speaks more so to the 'energy' of horror. On a quantum level, horror is a low vibration activity...

Participating in it draws more of the same....and the Universe brings that to you in a totally non-judgmental way.

I was with you on your podcast until this one. I feel you are pushing the bar too far and becoming religious on this one. Watching a horror movie does not attract horror to you. WHY go to see a movie that makes you scream, or to a huanted house where you are chased? One word. FUN. You go knowing its NOT REAL.

I'm sure the chicken experiences horror when it is slaughtered, yet many who follow this philosophy still consume the flesh of it.

I truely agree with the Law of Attraction. However when some start turning it into a religion, or start judging others, that's when you go too far.

peace and love

Horror is fun because it's fiction, and is a good reminder that all of life is fiction (and can be re-written!)

I really like watching a good actor portray a villain properly. As soon as I start thinking "I hate that person!" I stop and realize, no, I LOVE that actor, what a great job they're doing...

Then that helps me to remember to do that in "real life" too. As soon as I think "I hate that guy!" I can stop and think what a good job that spirit is doing playing that role in my drama. Then, I can wonder why that is, and decide how I want that story to go from now on.

Hey Antonio,

First off, subscribed to your podcast a short while ago, finally got around to listening to it. Great stuff.

As to your Horror Movies question, I'm sure you have your own ideas about this, but since you asked for ours, here goes:

Most people go to the movies to escape, to experience at least a brief period of not being stuck in their own lives.

I feel that it's one of the main movivators for people seeing, and feeling what they think is 'enjoyment' from watching them.

First, it makes them 'feel'.

It also gives them a chance to get a rush, from the scare, and then return to their lives of relative safety.

Frankly, I'm not surprised by this really. Most see it as harmless, though you and I both know it could be a sign of lack in other areas of their lives.

For some, it surely is just that, escape and yes, even entertainment.

For me? I'm a Jerry Maguire kind of movie fan myself.

Be well,
Allen
