I’ve always thought that it’s modesty to keep your achievements to yourself unless it’s solicited. I’ve always wanted to express my winning ideas and my strengths to people around me to help them but fear that may put them off and think of me as proud. Now, I know better. Thanks for this post.

I couldn’t agree more. Because in the end you, meaning yourself, are your best promoter. Now I believe that one can see people who are just bsing you. I live in DC, so you come across alot of name droppers..people who really exagerate acomplisments, but it is usually very transparent. Also, it took me some time to realize that this is a good thing and not a bad thing. I grew up in a strict Catholic background where being “humble” was a sacrifice. (I am not to keen on organized religion, because many of the teachings seemed to promote that being poor was is part of wordly sacrifice and that being’rich” is because God blesses you over another person.)

Thanks for the posts, which are positive and give me daily brain food.
