On days I felt horrible I used to say, “I felt like I got hit by a Semi(truck)!”

One night I had a dream where a semi-truck drove up onto the sidewalk and hit me straight on. After I woke up I was a bit shaken but not surprised it had occurred. I never said that awful line again.

I just came across your site today and am really enjoying many of your posts!

I wanted to comment on this one because it makes soooo much sense!

I notice that oftentimes when people ask me what I’m doing lately, I’ll respond with, “same ole, same ole… I’m making it…hangin’ in there….” –You know that negative, limiting talk.

Instead, most of the time, I’m feeling great and am rather happy! Why not respond with an answer that expresses how I’m feeling or better yet, how I’m vibrating!? Instead of saying, “I’m hanging in there” when someone asks what I’ve been doing, I can respond, “I’m doing great! Having fun manifesting and enjoying today!” and you know what? That would be an honest response!

How about “in case I get hit by a bus?” I know someone who said that a lot and actually did get hit by a bus. (He’s fine, but his little car was smushed.)

This used to be common in the tech world. I’d always get asked “how does this code work, in case you get hit by a bus?” And I’d always correct them with “don’t you mean, in case I win the lottery and move to the South of France?” It always got a chuckle.

I haven’t won the lottery yet but neither have I been hit by a bus. And since I work for myself now, I don’t get asked the question anymore 🙂

Whenever I’m feeling ill, I say “I’m sick as a dog.” My dog doesn’t look sick though. Why the heck do I say it? Just another silly phrase that I need to toss!

I’ve never said this – but I can’t stand when someone (especially kids) describe something they don’t like as “retarded.”

Ex: “That commercial’s retarded.”

It’s just awful.
